Kealing Broadcast Television is a student developed news program that airs every Tuesday through Advisory.  This year's news team is learning the tricks of the trade and will be broadcasting in about four weeks. We'll post the news in the Student Life section and in Hornet Herald every week once it's up and running.

During the 2016-2017 School Year, we had a strong group of Kealing PTA Business Supporters! We are now kicking off the program for the 2017-2018 school year.

Kealing Ultimate Frisbee Parent Volunteers needed
We (Coach Crouch, Kepner, and Natenberg) are excited to extend the ultimate frisbee season into the fall this year in order to provide more time for players to improve their skills and play.

Who: All grade levels, all programs, all genders. No prior playing experience needed.
When: Thursdays from 2:50 to 4:30pm, beginning September 14th and ending on November 9th.
Where: Kealing Middle School & Rosewood Park
Why: Because ultimate is awesome!

We are limiting the fall practices to 40 students because only one coach will be in attendance at each practice. We would love your help with transporting the players from Kealing to Rosewood Park and supervising during practice.** One parent volunteer per week would go a long way in helping us make these practices a great experience for all the players.

Email Coach Natenberg if you can volunteer your time. Please include the date(s) you can help and your cell phone number to make day of communication easier.

KMAG Meeting Thursday
This is just a reminder that we will have a KMAG meeting this coming Thursday, September 14th at 7:30 am in the Kealing library. Mr. Natenberg, our wonderful SMIA teacher, will be speaking about his class, which all 6th graders take, and about the transition to middle school. We would also love to answer any questions that have come up during the first few weeks of school. Please join us!

KMAG No Hassle Curriculum and Teacher Support Drive
The KMAG Curriculum Donation and Teacher Support Drive is underway! In our first week we have raised 20% of our goal with donations from 42 families. Please join these generous folks in asking yourself how much you can give to help keep the Kealing Magnet Program excellent. We have received donations from $5 to $2000. Nothing is too small (or large) and we are grateful for all who participate! Please visit the KMAG Donate page to make your contribution today!
Be sure to check out some of the videos of what KMAG has funded in the past on our website.

KMAG BookPeople Event
KMAG will be hosting a fundraiser through BookPeople September 1 through September 17. Buy your student’s required reading books and stock up on fall reading for yourself and your family while contributing to KMAG! Required reading lists for the new school year will be coming home with your student at the end of this week. BookPeople will donate 20% of all sales during the fundraiser period to KMAG (flyer must be presented at time of purchase). If you have any questions, please contact Kristen Bridgeman

If you have never been to BookPeople for this event, go to the 2nd floor and look for this table... all the books are together for easy shopping!

Thanks for your support of this wonderful program!
MacTheatre presents Catch Me if You Can
This big-hearted musical adventure is based on an astonishing real-life story of being young, in love … and in deep, deep trouble!
September 28-October 1 & October 5-8, 2017 Tickets may be purchased in advance at Student tickets are $7; adults are $16, and seniors are $12.

Please note: Although Catch Me If You Can is not a classic "family show," there is nothing objectionable in the script and songs, and the musical's peppy vibe will appeal to school-age kids.
