AISD Budget shortfall
If you are not aware, AISD is facing a 30 million shortfall in their upcoming budget.
  • There are a lot of different people looking at all the options and providing suggestions on where to cut.
  • One question stood out to me:   “How do we find a way to create revenue?”.  AISD faces pressure that our building and grounds are for the public to use.    Currently we have community groups and youth sport for profit groups that use AISD facilities and do not even pay for the janitorial costs.
  • Perhaps given AISD’s financial situation, we need to rethink this?  What do you think? Email if you want to join the conversation.

MacTheatre Presents: A Midsummer Night's Dream, Nov 8-11
Enter the enchanted land of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream when MacTheatre takes you on a magical adventure through a lush forest besieged by starry-eyed love triangles and feuding fairy kingdoms, awash with magic at every turn. A story of order and disorder, reality and appearance, and love and marriage. The play’s four stories are woven together in a single fateful night: the wedding of the Athenian Duke to his Queen, the misadventures of four lovers lost in the enchanted forest, an uproarious throw-down between the King and Queen of the Fairies, and an entertaining quarrel amongst amateur actors in a troupe.
A Midsummer Night's Dream is one of Shakespeare’s happiest and most beloved comedies. It is called a ""Dream"" because of the unrealistic events the characters experience in the play — real, yet unreal, such as crossed lovers, meaningless quarrels, forest chases leading to more confusion, and magic spells woven by the infamous Puck.
The lunatic, the lover, and the poet, are of imagination all compact” but audiences of all ages can enjoy A Midsummer Night’s Dream, a classic celebration of love, innocence, and merry meddling.
