Hornet Families,
This week is Food Service Workers Appreciation Week. If you get the chance, please take time to thank Kealing's cafeteria staff for their hard work and dedication to feeding our students. The PTA is providing gift bags to these hard workers. They have a very important role in keeping our children happy and fed!
Last week was AISD's Custodian and Grounds Keeping Appreciation Week (with National Custodial Workers Day on October 2nd). If you get the opportunity, please be sure to extend a belated thank you to the Kealing staff who help keep our school so clean and our grounds so tidy. They also received gift bags from our PTA.

Kealing High School Fair
Kealing Middle School will be hosting a High School Fair on Tuesday, October 11th during advisory. The high school fair is meant to give all students an opportunity to visit with their zoned high school and to see what other application based programs are offered at AISD high schools.
Last year, all of the participating high schools did a wonderful job showcasing their schools’ special programs and offering their insight into the high school experience for rising 9th graders. It will be helpful and exciting for students to get a taste of what their high school has to offer.
Last year, schools brought flyers, tri-folds, did mini demonstrations and many brought a few high school students with them to speak on their behalf. It would be helpful if students know their zoned high school.
Visit the AISD school assignment by resident address (SARA), where you can enter your address to identify your zoned high school.
Please visit the Kealing counseling website for continued updates on upcoming high school transition events.

KMAG No Hassle Fundraiser

AISD Trustee Candidate Forum
You are cordially invited to attend the 2016 AISD Trustee Candidate Forum on Sunday, October 16th from 4:00-5:30pm in the LASA library. Five AISD school board districts seats are to be decided on Election Day, 2016. The forum is a unique opportunity to meet the candidates and your attendance is highly encouraged! The parent organizations at LASA and Kealing Middle School and the LASA Student Council are hosting the event. The purpose of the forum is to educate our parents about the candidates and address specific magnet issues that may be of importance to our parents. The forum will open with a five minute overview of the AISD magnet programs. Basic information and facts will also be included in a handout given to the candidates and attendees in preparation for the remainder of the forum discussion. Candidates will offer introductory statements and answer questions submitted from the audience in a moderated format. Click here for more info, including ’Save a Seat’ request and publicity flyer: We look forward to seeing you there!
