Kealing 2017-2018 Summer Transition
Summer scheduling and transition dates are on the Kealing website. Click here to take a look and mark your calendar for next year.

District-Wide Book Drive
Kealing advisories are collecting books for a city-wide book drive to benefit AISD schools. Many campuses do not have enough "choice" books for students to read in classrooms or before and after school. Others hope to send books home with students for the summer. We are looking for books from all reading levels, Pre-K through 12th grade. Please have your child bring them to advisory. The Austin Council of PTAs will collect and distribute them. Together, we can share the love of reading with ALL kids in AISD!

Police Officer & Security Appreciation
Parents, please join the PTA in appreciating our hard-working security team at Kealing - Officer Plant and Security Jones. The PTA will show it's gratitude with small gifts, but student "thank you's" and/or small notes of appreciation are always welcome and very special. Thank you!

Last PTA Meeting & Volunteer Appreciation
Kealing parents: Come to the Kealing library on Thursday, May 25th, from 7:30-8:30am for coffee and breakfast treats to celebrate the end of the year — and to show our appreciation for all of our amazing volunteers this year. Feel free to stop by anytime between 7:30 and 8:30. From 7:45-8am we will have a short PTA meeting to adopt our budget for next year. We hope to see you there!

Join the June 3rd Parent Party! All funds go to KMS.
Please join our END OF YEAR CELEBRATION for PARENTS! Enjoy a delicious dinner, with wine, dessert, and beverages, at the lovely Henderson home, near Mt. Bonnell, on Saturday, June 3, from 6:30 pm onward, with 50 other Hornet parents. All ticket sales go to KMS PTA, for next year’s spending on Kealing classes. Visit to find this (& other Center Stage items). See you there! (Please contact Kara K at if you'd like more info.)

PTA Mentors Needed
If you have ever volunteered with a PTA, you have a wealth of knowledge, earned by working with other parents and schools. The Austin Council of PTAs is looking for people like you to share that knowledge with PTAs that are just getting started, or PTAs that are working to expand what they do. Please consider sharing your experience and skills to help another school grow stronger! If you think you might be interested, please complete a short online interest form at to let us know more about what you have to share and how you would like to share it. Thank you!

PTA Thanks
A shout out to Mr. Tommy Wyatt of The Austin Villager Newspaper for the complimentary ad for our anniversary celebration included in the April 21, 2017 edition of The Villager.

Calling All Parents Interested in KMAG!!!!
Interested in volunteering for KMAG and maintaining Kealing's amazing academic and learning community? Volunteer for KMAG! The KMAG Board needs a Co-Treasurer for the 2017-18 and possibly 2018-19 terms! No experience required, but CPA/financial background is a big plus. If interested please contact Raji Parameswaran at or Steve Rosen at

Just as key, KMAG is looking for volunteers to CHAIR many of lead committees, including a Fundraising Chair. These jobs are CRITICAL but also LIMITED in terms of time commitment - a great balance. Thanks to the efforts of previous Chairs much of the workflow has been scripted, and so there's great support in place. Please consider joining the KMAG team and making your child's experience at Kealing the best it can be!
