KMAG Shadow Wranglers (parent volunteers) needed!

Remember when your "tiny, little 5th grade baby" shadowed at Kealing?
Remember what a (hopefully) great experience that was for them?
You may remember also that the shadowing program is 100% run by parent volunteers.

Don't worry, the *hard* jobs are already filled by tireless, generous volunteers but NOW we need you for the easy, quick and very important shifts of shadow wrangling! 45-60 mins in the am (before school, bring your current student just a few minutes early - think of the bonding time in the car; it's priceless) and/or 45-60 mins in the afternoon at dismissal. Think of the brownie points you'll get for picking up your sweet kiddo (instead of him/her having to ride the bus!), too!

Seriously, we know you are busy but if everyone could just sign up for ONE SHIFT, we'd be golden. AND THINK OF THE LITTLE, TINY BABIES that are coming to experience our great school. We want to make sure they have a great experience!

We still have 111 SHIFTS to fill of our 154.  SIGN UP HERE.

KMAG discussion on LOTE class options
KMAG presents a discussion on LOTE (language other than English) class options on Thursday, January 16th at 7:30 a.m.!

Kealing Choice sheets will be coming sometime this semester for our students to choose classes for next year. In preparation for this, KMAG will have a representative from the LOTE department speak on the different languages offered at Kealing and what things a student might expect in that class. Remember 7th and 8th grade magnet students are required to sign up for a LOTE class. Hope to see you there!

KMAG (Kealing Magnet Advisory Group) meetings are open to everyone, and generally discuss topics relevant to the Magnet program. All KMAG meetings are from 7:30am to 8:30am and are usually in the library.

Girls' Lacrosse Parent Meeting and Pre-Season Practices
For girls interested in trying out Lacrosse, we will be holding one more pre-season practice at the Kealing fields in January as a way to try out the sport before committing to the regular season. The date is January 25th from 9:00am-11:00am. Lacrosse is open to all grade levels and no prior experience needed! Girls should wear athletic clothing appropriate for the weather and bring a full water bottle. If they have their own Lacrosse equipment (i.e. stick, goggles, mouth guard) they can bring it, otherwise all equipment will be provided.

If you have questions, email teacher sponsor Kelly Morledge. To sign up to attend the practices or to be added to the email list, complete this form.

Kealing Student Ambassadors Club
Interested in welcoming new students to Kealing?  Do you do know the ins and outs of our school?  Want to meet new people and help them adjust to middle school life?  If so, please come to a brief informational meeting after school in the library on Thursday, January 16th from 3:00-3:30.  Snacks will be provided.  This is a student led club and we are looking for students who are eager to welcome students to our campus.  THIS IS NOT A SHADOWING HOST. This is a club that welcomes students who are either newcomers from another country and/or  who transition to Kealing during the school year.  We look forward to seeing you there!  Feel free to email or for additional information or questions.
Kealing Center Stage Party & Auction Planning Committee
