Attention Kealing Hornets! The 8th grade NJHS is hosting a Winter Wear Drive. We will be taking donations from November 26th to December 14th. Bring any gently used coats, scarves, hats, and other winter wear, to your advisory to compete for a donut party! All donations will be going to Coats for Kids. We appreciate any donations!

Inkblot Submissions
Hey Hornets! Inkblot is back and ready for your submissions! You can submit artwork, writing, and photography. Students who submit before Winter Break will be given an Inkblot pin/button AND will be entered into a drawing to win a gift card. Students can submit online at and in your English teachers' rooms. Food Drive!
The Food for Thought elective is collecting non-perishable food items for the Central Texas Food Bank starting Monday, December 3, until Thursday, December 20. Over 17% of Travis County residents face food insecurity on a daily basis. The Central Texas Food Bank helps those residents make sure they have enough to eat. Please consider donating canned goods, pasta, beans, rice, apple sauce, trail mix, and dried fruit. Students may drop items off in room 515. Thank you!

We have only about a dozen ad spaces left, so we're extending the deadline until December 21st. Please submit your ads ASAP. There is ordering information at or with this direct link. Be sure to select the option for "Yearbook Recognition Ads" to get started. Don't miss out on this wonderful way to celebrate your child's commencement from middle school. You could even consider a "best friend" tribute ad, to celebrate their treasured friendships. Ads start at $30.

Writing Tutor Volunteers Need for Academy ELA Classes
We are seeking parent volunteers to assist in English Language Arts classes in the Academy Program during the Spring Semester. These volunteers would focus on supporting students' writing through one-on-one conferences with students. Past volunteers have assisted students at all points in the writing process - brainstorming, drafting, and editing. This support is especially important in helping our 7th Grade students prepare for the STAAR Writing Exam.

If you are interested in volunteering in this way, please complete this form, and we will contact you as we prepare for the Spring Semester.  Thank you!!
