AISD Future
The Facility Condition Assessment and the Educational Suitability Report are now available. These reports give an overview of Kealing's current campus conditions and will help inform the district's long-range facility planning as we work to envision the future of Austin ISD.
The minutes from the most recent Facilities and Bond Planning Advisory Committee (FABPAC) Meeting can be found here. They include the recommendations presented by the consultants, focusing primarily on elementary schools. More secondary school information is to come. AISD is working diligently to make informed recommendations that will inform the next 20+ of improvement in the district. Stay tuned for more info!
AISD Middle and High School Application Programs
Austin ISD has created a new system to make the process easier when applying to Academy and Magnet Programs district-wide. This system takes away the burden of submitting test scores, grades, etc. as we are able to access this info directly through district systems. If you have a student who is applying to one of these programs for the 2017-2018 school year, be sure to follow the instructions below.

Staff Appreciation Holiday Celebration
As we spend these weeks thinking about what we're thankful for, let's not forget the incredible staff at Kealing Middle School. Please consider donating to the Faculty/Staff Holiday Party, which will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 3pm. We are collecting gift cards in hopes of giving one to each staff member and food donations for the party. Gift card donations can be sent any time to Alyssa Barrera in the Program Office, or to me, Rachael Steyaert (email airetx@gmail.com for address). Food items may be sent to the Kealing office on Wednesday, Dec. 9 or to the library after 2pm. Thank you!
KMAG ANNOUNCEMENTS
KMAG Meeting This Week
Please join us for our next KMAG meeting this coming Thursday, December 8th, at 7:30 am in the library. The topic will be "Behind the Scenes in the Magnet Program" and will be led by Dianne Carter. If you have questions and are unable to attend the meeting, please email Mary-Alis Kelly at mand94@gmail.com. We hope to see you there.
Shadowing Volunteer Needed
The KMAG Shadow Committee is looking for a volunteer to set up Sign Up Genius for our parent volunteers' shifts. This should be set up by mid-December. We will have all of the dates/shift times for you. This is an easy task one can do from home. This person, ideally, will monitor it as well during the shadowing period in late January and February in case volunteers are having issues signing up for shifts. Please let us know if this interests you (Rob_Molly_Kohler@sbcglobal.net)
Thank you,
Molly Kohler and Gina Vance
