Hornet Herald - August 20, 2016

posted Aug 20, 2016, 6:50 AM by KMS Hornets   [ updated Aug 20, 2016, 10:38 AM ]
Hello Kealing Community,
It's time and we are ready to fill our empty building with students!  Here is a brief rundown of the first day of school.  Students will start the day in the Athletics/Fine Arts wing, with 6th grade students in the Small Gym, 7th grade students in the Theater, and 8th grade students in the Large Gym.  Our building will be open at 7:00 am and our staff will be available to welcome and direct students at drop-off.  Students will transition to schedule pick-up rooms based on last name and grade-level to receive their final schedules, campus maps, and a host of other information to bring home.  All 6th grade students will be escorted to these rooms by teachers to make sure they are able to get to their first rooms of the day with little fanfare.  For those of you who are new Kealing Middle School parents, take some deep breaths and remind yourself that you and your student will be fine.  We will have staff and student ambassadors on hand to help students navigate the Kealing halls on the first day of school and the PTA will be hosting a Parent Coffee to connect and celebrate (or commiserate).  Take a look at the rest of the weekly announcements and we look forward to seeing you all Monday as we launch the 2016-2017 school year!
